Multifunctional home office

06.04.2021

DUE TO THE PANDEMIC THAT HAS PLAGUED OUR LIVES, MANY COMPANIES AROUND THE WORLD HAVE BEEN FORCED TO RETHINK THEIR WORKING MODELS. AT THE SAME TIME, FAMILIES HAD TO ADAPT TO A NEW WAY OF LIVING IN THEIR HOMES AND MANY EVEN RETHOUGHT THEIR MODELS OF LIFE AND ACTION. IT IS CERTAIN THAT STUDYING AND WORKING FROM HOME HAS BECOME PART OF THE ROUTINE OF MANY AND, IN MANY OF THESE CASES, IT WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

Among all the changes that have taken place in our lives, this seems to have been one that has come to stay. It is therefore not strange that the idea that the office can and should acquire new features is installed, also integrating other spaces such as the bedroom, the library or the living room. In this sense, the growing and manifest need to make the interior spaces lighter and more functional, with more sustainable and durable decoration pieces, seems to be unavoidable, in order to contribute to the well-being in the daily lives of those who inhabit it now practically full time. Thus, the old maxim “less is more” gains prominence and emphasizes the importance of establishing simplicity and favoring circulation. Objects and furniture that can be used in more than one way and last for more years are increasingly valued. Versatility and quality thus become selection criteria when choosing what remains and what comes out in this exercise of reimagining the house and restoring balance.

All of this means that in 2021 there will be a strong focus on minimalist environments, with a high emphasis on simple pieces of furniture, with light wood finishes, combined with Nordic or Classic decorating styles. To top it off, are also super trends high comfortable upholstery, in good quality fabrics and neutral and monochromatic tones, such as white, beige, earthy or gray; the diversity of textures and a good lighting design, preferably natural. These options not only add personality and character to the spaces, but also contribute to maintaining the feeling of lightness and warmth, now so necessary.
